What are Casement Windows?

Casement windows are hinged on one side, allowing them to swing outward on either the left- or right-hand side. This type of window is alternatively called a crank window. The crank, which in modern casement windows, is often designed to fold discreetly out of the way, is used to open and close the window with ease.

Modern casement windows are some of the most energy efficient options for your home because when closed, unlike double hung or slider windows, all four sides form a tight, secure seal.
